10A Driving School - Fairly straightforward question, would i be able to charge my car battery with a dc power supply that outputs 12v 2.5a? I am planning to check current drain with engine off tomorrow after getting battery charged. The fuse is for the entire circuit. If 10 a is more and faster, why not just put the 10 a option? I want to give the battery (lead acid 46ah) a top up using battery charger (10a) after every week so that battery remains charged since ecu. Just disconnect the large cable from the battery positive post that goes to the alternator, then put the 2 probes of your multimeter in between them with the multimeter set to. There may be other things on that circuit, sharing that 20a fuse. I've switched it to 2a based on your recommendation, but will have to wait overnight to see if it works better that.
